July in Tignano is the festival month, which reaches its 21st edition, will bring music, theatre, culture and high cuisine to one of the most pleasing medieval centres in Chianti.
The culinary event is the truly new feature of the Tignano Festival 2008, for which every event will have a special setup and flavour.
It starts on 3 July with an opening event that will gladden the palates of the guests, bringing traditional Tuscan cooking into the spotlight.
The chef will cook live on the proscenium of the theatre’s stage, accompanied by the sounds of the BBB-Band Orchestra.
The voice of Dolcenera will be the protagonist, the winner of the 53rd Sanremo Festival in 2003 in the New Proposals category. It continues with a theatre show by Molière on 17 July.
For the direction and choreography by Monica Menchi, a theatrical comedy by the French writer will be staged in Tignano, which was created as a scenario to join together the entrèes of a ballet and the arias of J.B. Lully and above all as a pretext of a masquerade of a exotic burlesque party: The Bourgeois Gentleman.
Also theatre but Italian this time: on 24 July Dario Vergassola and David Riondino will come to the medieval centre for the show entitled “I cavalieri del Tornio: recital per due”.
Finally, on 31 July, the philharmonic symphony orchestra of Lviv will enchant the public with Beethoven’s Second Symphony in D major and Opera 54, Schicksalslied, for mixed chorus and orchestra by J. Brahms. The orchestra, directed by the Maestro Ugo Maccari, will be accompanied by two choral groups: G.P. from Palestrina and Giuseppe Verdi from Arcidosso, which will be dedicated to classic polyphony (sacred and profane) from various eras, popular tracks, spirituals and light music tracks.
