Sun, sea and music- the ingredients of the Italia Wave Love Festival which will liven the days and the nights of Livorno from July 16 to 19.
The most well known names are Verve and the Chemical Brothers, exclusively for the fair (the first will open the fair on the 16th, and the second will close on the 19th), playing at the communal stadium. However also attending are Gnarls Barkley, Sud Sound System, Elio and le storie Tese, the Wombats, Linea 77, Tricarico, Sergent Garcia. And ethnic touch will be provided by Vanessa de Mata dal Brasile, Konono N°1 from the Congo, Saba from Somalia, and the Russian Deti Picasso.
The main concerts will be held in the stadium in the evenings; however the Festival will also be open all day beginning at 10 am with the Rotunda dell’Ardenza featuring the winners of the “Italia Wave Band” competition. And at night in addition to the main concerts you can attend Elettrowave at the Fortezza Vecchia with the sounds of Frenchman Jef K, Canadian Vincent Lemieux and Guillalme & The Cotou Dumonts, Kreon & Lemos from Greece, among many others.
More than music, Italia Wave also presents writers (Carlo Lucarelli), journalists (Marco Travaglio and Mario Cardinali), and late movies and cartoons (all events held at the Fortezza Vecchia).
Ticket costs vary from 10 to 25 Euros. Some events are free of charge.
Tickets for all events are available at a cost of 50 Euros.
