Here we are again, inviting you to the unforgettable evenings of vocal music offered by the many forms of groups of lyrical artists guided by the well-known New York maestro Daniel Ferro.

I say again, because the improvement master class for lyrical singers has taken place for a whole month in the territory of the Municipality of Greve in Chianti for the last 14 years. Known and appreciated by residents, tourists and people who have adopted Greve as their hometown who attend the concerts held in superb corners of our Chianti en masse every year.

During their stay in Greve in Chianti, the participants and young artists from more than 8 different countries integrate perfectly with the local population, making friendships that often last over the years and asserting the affective cultural and human exchange with the Greve community every year.

Just as Mayor Marco Hagge reinforces in the Welcome text of the Vocal Programme “on a route that is reversed compared to the path of our fellow townsman Giovanni da Verrazzano, the Daniel Ferro Vocal Program represents a strong and tested link between our territory and one of the world’s most important cultural centres”. And the Municipal Administration had been made proud and ready to assist with this stay since the beginning, having been immediately convinced of its high quality.

This year, the Cultural Association Daniel Ferro & Friends has also been formed by friends, sponsors, and past and present administrators who together intend to promote Maestro Ferro’s activities in other periods, not just in the summer, and ask for donations, if possible, at this difficult time for the dollar.

The old fascination for Italy that Maestro Ferro encountered during his stay in Siena while studying there under the guidance of Maestro Giorgio Favaretto, a lecturer at the Accademia Chigiana repeats unchanged year after year within this group of artists. The personally sweet savouring of the atmosphere of these enchanting places and the intense study of the three week course create an almost magical mixture. Their presence also remains highly important for the spontaneous use that occurs with the difficult lyrical and musical culture, which insinuates this month in the youngest people mixed with friendship, cordiality and popularity.

Every year, Maestro Daniel Ferro is assisted in his work by a group of already established musicians who speak the same musical language and teach the same notes: the vocal technique coach and the Maestro’s assistant, Mrs Janice Harper Smith (Switzerland), the Maestri of Spartito (musicians of different nationalities), Robert Kopelson (USA), Bruno Rigacci (Italy), Rolando Russo (Italy), Jan Philip Schulze (Germany), Gräinne Dunne (Ireland), Martin Bruns (Switzerland).
