The Unicorn Festival in Vinci

Imagine being in a medieval village populated with dames, knights and wizards in a fantasy made up of elves and coloured gnomes. Magic becomes reality on Sunday 27 July for the Unicorn Festival in Vinci.
There will be games and attractions for all visitors: from costume parades (medieval and otherwise) to armoured duels in the middle of an arena, from face painting for kids to archery with real archers. Bards and musicians will make themselves heard around the streets and will organise a great night-time Celtic music concert, while you can walk around the stalls of the medieval food market or replenish your energy at a typical restaurant.
More than 100 live entertainers and role players will take place in the festival, which has now reached its 4th edition. As in the previous years, the main event will be the Disfida di Arti Magiche: a sort of theatrical competition among the associations that participate at the event, where each group stages a magical ritual. This year there will also be two new competitions that are open to everyone: the “Nuvole di Fantasia” drawing competition and the Gara di Cosplay, where the best costume wins.
There will also be an area dedicated to cartoons with stands selling comics, role and war games, as well as an exhibition set up for the ten years of the Brendon comic strip by Bonelli Editore, with the participation of two writers of the famous series.
Everyone can dress up, taking part in this fantastical environment to fully experience a magical day.
(The Unicorn Festival will take place in Vinci from 16:00 to 24:00 on 27 July 2008)
