The magic of cinema combines with the flavour of wine in the unique scenery of Chianti. The third edition of "Cine e Chianti" returns to Castelnuovo Berardenga from 12 to 20 July.

The cinematographic event dedicated to the greatest Italian directors that will pay homage to the work of the director Paolo Virzì from Leghorn this year, after the brothers Saviani and Mario Monicelli. Chianti therefore becoming a protagonist, showing two elements that have made it famous worldwide; on the one hand as a land producing highly prized wines and on the other hand as an ideal backdrop for films, fiction, video clips and advertisements.

The event's programme is rich in its moments. Every evening, from 21:30 at Villa Chigi of Castelnuovo Berardenga, films by Tuscan directors will be projected, all of which are free and on which there will be discussions and debates with experts of the big screen. Between one protection and another, there will be a chance to try wine at the “Cinenoteca”, which knows how to satisfy even the most refined palates. Stands will be set up in the superb spaces of Villa Chigi with materials and publications on the world of cinema and the works by Paolo Virzì. This year, the event will be enriched with the photographical exhibition with the shots by the participants in the competition entitled “Castelnuovo Berardenga, as an ideal space for film sets”. The event comes to a close on Sunday 20 July with a meeting with Paolo Virzì, who will talk about his work and personal experience as a director, actor and producer.
