Very pleasant village with enchanting panoramas, midway between Florence and Siena, along the Roman road Via Cassia. It was a Florentine small fortress and still keeps the town walls and two towered gates. In the country round it, it is worth a visit the Pieve di Sant’Appiano, Petrognano, Marcialla, Vico d’Elsa and the disappeared town of Semifonte, on the spot where today there is the Chapel of Saint Archangel Michael.
